25-year-old Kentrel Antwain Overton of 12th Street Drive S.W. in Hickory was arrested by Hickory Police just before midnight Wednesday (April 14) on multiple felony and misdemeanor counts of failure to appear. Overton reportedly failed to appear in court on charges of felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver marijuana and misdemeanor counts of child abuse, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving while license revoked. The warrants for his arrest were issued in October of last year and January of this year in Iredell and Catawba counties. ....

48-year-old Gretta Garee Maltba of 3rd Avenue Place S.E. in Hickory was arrested by Hickory Police at about 11:40 Wednesday morning (April 14) on multiple felony and misdemeanor warrants out of Burke and Caldwell counties. She was wanted for two felony probation violations and misdemeanor counts of second-degree trespassing.
Maltba is on probation as she serves a 24-month suspended sentence following a March 2021 conviction in Caldwell County and an 18-month suspended sentence following an October 2020 conviction in Catawba County, both on felony counts of possession of a schedule II controlled substance. ....

57-year-old Jimmy Dwayne Wilson of 27th Avenue N.E. in Hickory was served a true bill of indictment by Hickory Police at about 2:25 Tuesday afternoon (April 13) on one felony count of possession of a schedule II controlled substance (methamphetamine) and misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and second-degree trespassing. The warrants for his arrest were issued on March 12.
Wilson was taken into custody without incident at his residence. He was placed in the Catawba Co. Detention Facility with bond set at $5,500, secured. He remained in jail as of this morning (April 15). An appearance in Superior Court was scheduled yesterday in Newton. Wilson will again appear in Superior Court on June 7. ....

33-year-old Taylor John Hodge of Kannapolis, N.C. was arrested by Hickory Police early Tuesday morning (April 13) on one felony count of possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
The suspect was arrested when Officers saw a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot at a used car lot on 16th Street N.E. During the incident, Officers learned that the vehicle had been reported as stolen. The driver, Taylor John Hodge, was taken into custody without incident.
Hodge was taken to the Catawba Co. Detention Facility under a $1,500 secured bond. He has since been released. An appearance in District Court was scheduled on the 13th in Newton. No additional court dates on the stolen vehicle charge are currently listed. ....

26-year-old Jenny Xiong, who is listed as a homeless person from Claremont and also lists an address on West Pinehills Avenue in Morganton, has been arrested on a felony warrant as a fugitive awaiting extradition to another state. She is wanted by the Sheriff’s Office in Spartanburg County, South Carolina for distribution of methamphetamine.
Xiong was arrested by Hickory Police this morning (April 14). She was placed in the Catawba Co. Detention Facility with bond set at $12,000, secured. An appearance in District Court was scheduled for April 26 in Newton. ....
