WHAT IT S ABOUT:
When an attack brings down the star student at an elite ballet school, her replacement enters a world of lies, betrayal - and cutthroat competition.
WHAT WE THOUGHT:
Teen drama, gratuitous sex and the cruel beauty of ballet make up Netflix s newest series
Tiny Pretty Things. Set in a ballet high school that aims to craft - through fire and blood - the next generation of superstars, it s a pretty formulaic story that likes to superficially wax philosophical about a pretentious dance form. Despite its schlocky writing, soapy acting and nonsensical relationship pairings, the show s biggest trump card is the fact that they mostly cast professional dancers, making for perfect twirls and pirouettes. The actors may be wooden in their acting, but the emotion of the show shines through its choreography.

Life at ballet school means all things Sugar Plum Fairies and pretty pirouettes, right? Not according to Netflix s new teen drama
Tiny Pretty Things.
Set at an elite Chicago ballet academy, the series adapted from the novel by Sona Charaipotra and Dhonielle Clayton kicks off with one of the school s most promising students, Cassie (Anna Maiche), being pushed off the roof of the building. We told you; not your typical ballet school. While the police try to figure out what went down when Cassie did, the remaining dancers are more concerned with who will replace the prima ballerina. Among them is precocious Bette (Casimere Jollette), who will literally do anything to her unsuspecting classmates to land the lead role, and newcomer Neveah (Kylie Jefferson) who’s determination to change her life drives her to succeed in the dance world.

Netflix s new ballet drama âTiny Pretty Thingsâ is filled with plenty of twists and turns and the seventh episode âCatch & Releaseâ begins on a surprising note as Nabil (Michael Hsu Rosen) visits Cassie (Anna Maiche) in the hospital and notices her hand moving.
Archer s head Monique Madame DuBois (Lauren Holly) offers June Park (Daniela Norman) an allowance with a non-disclosure agreement. Meanwhile, Oren Lennox (Barton Cowperthwaite) asks Bette Whitlaw (Casimere Jollette), âJust tell me where were you the night Cassie fell?â She refuses to say anything even as he begs for the truth. In fact, she hints at how he had it âboth waysâ while dating her.
