WHAT IT S ABOUT:
When an attack brings down the star student at an elite ballet school, her replacement enters a world of lies, betrayal - and cutthroat competition.
WHAT WE THOUGHT:
Teen drama, gratuitous sex and the cruel beauty of ballet make up Netflix s newest series
Tiny Pretty Things. Set in a ballet high school that aims to craft - through fire and blood - the next generation of superstars, it s a pretty formulaic story that likes to superficially wax philosophical about a pretentious dance form. Despite its schlocky writing, soapy acting and nonsensical relationship pairings, the show s biggest trump card is the fact that they mostly cast professional dancers, making for perfect twirls and pirouettes. The actors may be wooden in their acting, but the emotion of the show shines through its choreography.
