the murdaugh family faced a lawsuit over an accident in which son, paul, was allegedly intoxicated when he crashed a boat causing the death of a 19-year-old passenger. one of many mounting financial and legal problems that prosecutors say that led murdaugh to kill his wife and son to create a distraction. the defense insists investigators went into the case with pre-conceived notions. the police announced don t worry, there is no danger to y all, there is nobody out there that could pose a danger to you because you see, they decided that night he did it. there are 255 names on the list of potential witnesses in this case. again we re just on witness number one. other witnesses include more law enforcement, family members and also victims of murdaugh s
