Meet Google s Top Exec in New Zealand: a Single Mother With 1,800 Reports

Rainsford has worked at Google for nearly four years. Caroline Rainsford Rainsford, who previously worked at L Oréal, Philips, and GE, got a recruiting call from Google in 2017. At the time, she was three months into her maternity leave for her second child. (In New Zealand, parents are entitled to one year of maternity leave six months of which are paid.) She told the recruitment team that she was planning on taking the full year, but for this opportunity she would end it early if necessary.

Thousands of YouTube comments on Sky News Australia video celebrate BLM activist being shot in head

First published on Wed 26 May 2021 13.30 EDT Sky News Australia’s YouTube channel has published more than 9,000 comments mostly celebrating and mocking the shooting of a Black Lives Matter activist in Britain who is fighting for her life. The racist and violent comments, which could be described as hate speech, appear below a short video news report uploaded on Monday about the activist Sasha Johnson. Johnson remains in a critical condition after sustaining a gunshot wound to her head in an incident in south London. “Damn, every once in a while I read something that makes me want to celebrate,” one typical commentator on Sky’s YouTube channel wrote. “Hope she enjoys being a vegetable.”
