Scholarship established in Alan Canfora s name

A scholarship in Alan Canfora s name has been created to honor his life and legacy by supporting future Kent State University students.
One of nine Kent State University students wounded in the May 4, 1970, shootings on campus, Canfora, 71, died Dec. 20 following a short illness.
Canfora earned his undergraduate degree in 1972 and a master s in library science in 1980. He was among those wounded by Ohio National Guard soldiers who opened fire during a peaceful demonstration on the campus. Four other students Allison Krause, Jeffrey Miller, Sandra Scheuer and William Schroeder were killed during the shooting.
