Submissions may be color or black-and-white, and must be shot within the Adirondacks, with no restrictions on subject matter. This year, the Institute received 111 submissions from 60 students from 11 schools. Brooklyn Mayberry (grade 12, Lake Placid High School) received first place for his photo entitled “My Brother.” ....
Animal Collective’s Josh “Deakin” and Brian “Geologist” Weitz have scored a new documentary called Crestone, which follows a community of SoundCloud rappers living in the titular Colorado desert town. The film written, produced, and directed by Marnie Ellen Hertzler in partnership with Memory will get a PVOD release on Tuesday, February 16 (via Utopia Media). A few days later, on February 19, Domino Soundtracks will release Crestone (Original Score). Watch the Crestone trailer below and scroll down for the LP art and tracklist. Marnie Ellen Hertzler shot Crestone over the span of eight days. The film follows Hertzler as she visits an old high school friend, now known as Champloo Sloppy, and his fellow artists in Colorado.
