Kay County, like many counties across the state and country, grapples with the ongoing issue of impaired driving. According to the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office, Kay County is the 9th highest in the state of Oklahoma for alcohol related car crashes. In 2019, there were 53 alcohol related car crashes in Kay County, with four of them involving drivers under 21.
