Veteran s Club founder Jeremy Harrell is still working to make an envisioned community of tiny houses for homeless veterans a reality in southern Louisville, and on Monday Sen. Rand Paul publicly threw his support behind that initiative. Our obligation for our soldiers doesn t end when they re done with their service, Paul told a small group of reporters. They give a lot to go overseas. Many of them have come home severely wounded, some come home with post-traumatic stress syndrome, so I think we still have an obligation to see what we can do for our veterans.
Paul, Democratic state Sen. David Yates and some Louisville Metro Council members met with Harrell at Derby City Pizza Co. on Greenwood Road on Monday afternoon to talk about the project, which needs money to get off the ground.
