AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The City of Amarillo has set a date for the Summer Street Maintenance Program for information on the city streets.
Residents can get all the information during the public meeting that is set for 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, at the Amarillo Public Library/Southwest Branch, 6801 SW, 45th Ave.
The meeting will be hosted by the COA Capital Projects & Development Engineering Department.
Residents will be provided an overview of the Summer Street Maintenance Program and staff will be available to answer questions. ....

Amarillo City Services To Return To Normal Next Week (Hopefully)
City of Amarillo services resume normal operations Monday February 22. The city closed many offices this week to aid in the effort to conserve the Amarillo area’s energy supply during the recent dangerous winter weather.
Other City facilities resuming normal operations Monday include the Charles E. Warford Activity Center, all Amarillo Public libraries and the Simms Municipal Building. Amarillo Animal Management & Welfare will also re-open.
The Amarillo Public Health Department COVID-19 walk-in vaccination clinic at the Amarillo Civic Center will operate under normal conditions beginning Monday with vaccinations available for individuals in groups 1A  and 1B and those scheduled to receive second doses. Non-essential city of Amarillo facilities to remain closed through Friday

Due to the ongoing inclement winter weather situation affecting the region and the state s energy supply, the city of Amarillo s public health department will not release a COVID-19 report card Thursday or Friday with non-essential city facilities remaining closed through the end of the week. 
According to previous Globe-News reports, the city joined the efforts of Potter County, Randall County and the city of Canyon to close non-essential offices the rest of the week to help conserve energy.  ....

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The Amarillo walk-in vaccine clinic has been successful getting people vaccinated against the virus as quickly as possible.
From Amarillo police and fire departments to employees at the Amarillo library, many in Amarillo and around the country are helping with vaccinations.
Despite the uncertainty, some say they are loving what they do.
“I absolutely love my job, I love what I do and I lover serving our community. I think this is just a testament of what we do and how we like to do things,” said Marcus Nerios, prevention program coordinator, Amarillo Public Health. ....
