Online, at least two independent Lebanese media sources have reported a decision taken on Monday by the Nahr Ibrahim municipality in the Byblos district, one that has imposed a night-time curfew on foreign and Syrian nationals.
According to the Lebanon-based Megaphone, the municipality cited suspicious movements by Syrian residents of the town as the reason behind their decision.
The decision has been regarded as directly targeting Syrian refugees living in the area, who have been facing a number of difficulties in the country already ravaged by an extreme economic crisis. ....

Tur Kitchen Chef Nelson Fernandez Dead at 44

Fernandez s career next took him to Canada, where he worked in several kitchens before landing the role of head chef at the since-closed Nyood Restaurant and Lounge in Toronto.
In 2014, Fernandez moved to Miami to head the kitchen at Byblos in South Beach. There, he created a menu inspired by the Eastern Mediterranean and the Maghreb region of Northwest Africa. Fernandez also continued pursuing his culinary studies, earning the title of Certified Executive Chef from the American Culinary Federation and serving as assistant dean of the since-shuttered Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts Miami.
Amid the pandemic, Fernandez opened Tur Kitchen, a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant in Coral Gables. The chef parted ways with the restaurant and, before his death, created several tasting meals for Chèvre, a cheese shop and restaurant that will open soon in Miami. ....

Amazon Studio’s fashion competition series “Making the Cut,” hosted and executive produced by Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn, is officially coming back for a second season. And this time around, supermodel Winnie Harlow and Moschino creative director Jeremy Scott are joining the judging panel.
Season 2 of the unscripted fashion series, which pits 10 international designers and entrepreneurs against each other for $1 million and an Amazon Fashion mentorship, premieres on the streaming service this summer.
