The Lake Mills boys team continued its dominant start to the season with a 73-25 victory over North Union on Monday night.Â
The Bulldogs took a 42-19 halftime lead, and then outscored the Warriors, 22-2, in the third to put the game into blowout territory. Lake Mills allowed the Warriors to score just six points in the second half, as North Union fell to 0-8 on the season.Â
With the win, Lake Mills improved its perfect record to 8-0. The Bulldogs next game will be on Jan. 5 against North Iowa.Â
Boys Basketball
Grundy Center 73, Hampton-Dumont-CAL 55:Â The Hampton-Dumont-CAL boys basketball team fell to 1-6 on the season with a 73-55 loss to Grundy Center on Monday night.
The Mason City boys basketball team scored an important win on Tuesday night, with a 65-59 victory over Fort Dodge.Â
The Mohawks were led on offense by junior Corey Miner, who put up 33 points on 11-of-19 shooting, with nine free throws.
Mason City took a 35-29 halftime lead, which held up as the two teams scored an identical 30 points in the second half.Â
Along with Miner s scoring explosion, junior Brandon Shipman came through with 12 rebounds. Shipman scored 10 points, while junior Isaiah Washington contributed 11.Â
Four Dodgers scored in double figures. Senior Averey Martin put up 13, while sophomore Javion Jondle put up 12. Junior Carson Peterson and Bradley Vodraska scored 11 and 10 points, respectively.Â
