In history in 2012 at the university of maryland. The top he will be giving this evening is a result of that ph. D. Dissertation, i believe. Yes. He has, in the course of this particular research for this project received a couple of prestigious honors the new York State Library Cunningham Research residency, and the new york state archives Ownership Trust hackman residency, to conduct research on governor alfred e. Smith, and as part of his next research project, on a Congress Woman from the state of new jersey and an advocate from the fair labors acts, he has received from the new Je
American progressionism and the coming of the new deal. He argues thattal al smith lost the 1928 election, his ideals and policies paved the way for president roosevelt. Good evening, everyone. Lots of people from pasadena village, relatives, my daughter and his parents are there from where i live. Id like to thank my wife from being here. As most of us know, your spouse is the one who picks up, and kept me organized, kept me going and make sure i did not lose too much of the focus i was going for this. So let me get started. The intention of my book is to let you know more about me from the beginning. Before i intended, and the rest of my story starts with when i enrolled in 1969. Ill give you a glimpse of the campus life i know. The rest of it is about my photography fee, and through may want to may 4th. Thats me in my photos staying next to my mom, looking up at my newest brother. A student and photographer for the College Newspaper at the time, one of his photos was used on the cover of life magazine. He has published a book about his experience, moments of truth a photographers experience of kent state 1970. Max thank you all so much for coming out tonight. Tonight, we are hosting the photographer Howard Ruffner who, during his College Years at kent state university, was a photographer for the yearbook and newspaper. His book tonight, moments of truth, is a collection of more than 150 photos around the kent state massacre of 1970 in which four students lives were lost.
