The Wadena-Deer Creek School Board approved budget cuts at its April 2 meeting after district voters rejected a board-proposed levy increase and bonding referendum in a special election in November.
Doug Jones of Wadena was recently honored with a 50-year membership certificate from the National American Legion. The American Legion Post 171 in Wadena presented the certificate to Jones in March.
The Madhatters Community Theatre production of "Steel Magnolias" will be presented in four performances starting Thursday, Oct. 5, 2023, through Sunday at Wadena Memorial Auditorium.
Auditions for the Madhatters Community Theatre show, 'Chicago,' were held last weekend, Jan. 6 and 7. The musical will be staged during the last two weekends of March.
