It’s an interesting time to be a man. Expectations are changing. Bad actors are being held accountable for their toxic behavior. Powerful men are recognizing that they can’t always get away with unacceptable actions. “In my mind, I’ve never crossed the line with anyone, but I didn’t realize the extent to which the line has been redrawn,” former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said as he announced his resignation after a probe commissioned by the state attorney general concluded that he had sexually harassed a large number of women. “There are generational and cultural shifts that I just didn’t fully appreciate.”
So how do we teach the next generation of boys to be better stewards of the changing times? From toxic masculinity to sexual fluidity, today’s Daily Dose explores the future of manhood, introducing you to the societal shifts and faces of change redefining the male identity.

Lyssa Kay Adams, best-selling author of “The Bromance Book Club”, will be releasing a new book this July, “Isn’t It Bromantic?”, the fourth book in the series. The Northern Onondaga Public Library (NOPL) and Skaneateles Library have partnered to host a virtual interview with Adams at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 21.
Adams’ “Bromance Book Club” series tells the story of an all-men’s book club that reads romance to better understand the women in their lives and to help them learn about themselves. Filled with hilarity, a cast of quirky and endearing characters, soul-searching moments, and some steamy scenes, these are books destined to become some of your new favorite reads.

Another idea would be to write a loved one a letter using calligraphy. The library has two titles to help with that plan, Calligraphy 101: a Workshop in a Book by Jeaneen Gauthier and Calligraphy in 24 Hours by Vieko Kespersaks which would provide the necessary lessons.
