New Year, New Parish cleanup happening Saturday Parish proud and last updated 2021-01-21 08:48:57-05 New Year, New Parish is the slogan for Saturday s beautification event in Lafayette. It s being put on by Parish Proud, One Acadiana, United Way of Acadiana, UL Lafayette and Republic Services at the intersection of Cameron and University. One nearby store manager says she s so looking forward to the event on January 23, which lasts from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm. I m happy because sometimes people just throw their trash in the parking lot and sometimes I pick it up, says Gemma Jackson, manager at Hair Star. This Saturday, Gemma won t be the only one tending to the litter outside the shop though. Parish Proud is inviting any one who would like to help clean up the University Avenue Corridor. ....
