Herd defeats Sioux City on Pink in the Rink Night

(KELO.com) The Sioux Falls Stampede hosted their annual Pink in the Rink Night at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center Friday and defeated the Sioux City Musketeers 4-3. The win extends a seven-game point streak of five wins and two overtime losses. Sam Rhodes, Brandon Chabrier, Luke Toporowski and Michael Citara all scored in the contest, while Trent Burnham made the start in net. The Sioux City Muskeeters scored first in the annual event where the ice is dyed pink and the players wear specialty jerseys in tribute to those who have been affected by breast cancer. Carter Loney tallied the goal to put the visiting team in front at the 7:08 mark of the first period. The only goal of the period was assisted by team leading-scorer Brian Carrabes and Ben Steeves.

Stampede defeated 6-2 at Sioux City

By Rick Keller Jan 17, 2021 7:15 AM SIOUX CITY, IA (KELO.com) The Sioux Falls Stampede were outmatched 6-2 in their third game in three days against the Sioux City Musketeers at the Tyson Events Center Saturday night. The four-goal second period by the Musketeers made the difference, while Cole Sillinger and J.P. Turner scored for Sioux Falls. The Sioux City Musketeers scored in the first period for the second straight game off the stick of Joel Maatta. Justin Hryckowian scored twice to open the second period to put Sioux City up 3-0. Kirklan Irey and Matteo Costantini continued to dominate the Herd defense with a goal apiece for the 5-0 lead in the first 10 minutes of the second.

Black Hawks Continue Slow Start With Two More Losses FRIDAY NIGHT VS. GREEN BAY The Green Bay Gamblers were in town for their only visit to Young Arena this year, and they escaped with a 2-1 win over Waterloo. According to the team s press release, Gamblers defenseman Mason Lohrei has scored four goals this season and all of them have been game-winners, including his third period tally Friday night. Lohrei also assisted on the other Green Bay goal in the first period. The Black Hawks tied the game in the second period with a goal by Tucker Ness. In the win, Gambler s goalie Aaron Randazzo made a total of 43 saves. Waterloo s Charlie Glockner made 38 stops in the loss.
