Members of the Dawson County High School Future Farmers of America (FFA) club recently placed fifth in a regional veterinary science contest.
According to Keith Pankey, FFA advisor and agricultural sciences teacher at Dawson County High School, the contest included a range of questions related to the veterinary science field.
“The contest consisted of basic knowledge questions on small animal care, scientific names and veterinary care,” Pankey said. “Also, the students had to identify veterinary surgical equipment, parasites, livestock and small animal breeds.”
