New Delhi [India], September 13 (ANI/NewsVoir): Room to Read India (RtR) and United States Agency for International Development (USAID) jointly hosted a National Seminar on September 8, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at The Lalit Hotel in New Delhi. The seminar themed on 'Reading Equals' recognized Foundational Literacy and Numeracy as an urgent and necessary prerequisite to foundational learning. The event convened participation from more than 150 stakeholders, including National and State-level government officials and like-minded organizations. The seminar aimed at building momentum in favour of foundational learning also witnessed the presence of authors, illustrators, activists, advocacy experts and publishers of children's literature. New Delhi [India], September 8 (ANI/NewsVoir): The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Room to Read (RTR) are working in India to increase access to grade-level appropriate reading materials, provide children with opportunities to practice reading, and strengthen parental and community engagement in support of children's learning to read. To recognise foundational literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional skills as prerequisite to future learning and success, USAID and RTR, today, hosted a National Seminar on 'Reading Equals', which was attended by various stakeholders, including government officials, NGOs, authors, illustrators, activists, advocacy experts, and publishers of children's literature.
