A rare wintry-mix spring nor’easter last Thursday couldn’t keep a warehouse full of people from celebrating the opening of the new home for the Lowell-based Merrimack Valley Food Bank.
LOWELL A surprise spring nor’easter couldn’t keep away a warehouse full of people who came out on Thursday to celebrate the ribbon cutting for the new home of the Merrimack Valley Food Bank.
LOWELL The development of existing buildings and vacant properties in the city is very much on the City Council’s collective mind, and the motions from past meetings, as well as the upcoming meeting, reflect the members’ intent to maintain a focus on growing the economic fortunes of Lowell through property growth and development.
LOWELL Housing or the lack thereof dominated Tuesday night’s City Council meeting. Almost a dozen agenda items dealt with whether and how to implement Lowell’s housing-first strategy, including on the yearlong discussion on accessory dwelling units.
The new plans will add two stories to the existing building. The existing interior will also be renovated and Rossi said he hoped to have a supermarket as a ground-floor tenant.
