His surrender comes around three weeks after a designated Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) court in Bhuj, Kutch declared him and three other policemen proclaimed absconders.
The 4 officers allegedly intercepted a truck loaded with arecanuts in Mundra town on April 13 and extorted Rs 3.75 crore from Mumbai-based businessman.
The investigation has revealed that CP Traders, a firm registered in Gori’s name raised false invoices for the sale of areca nuts to another firm Mohit Enterprise, and also raised false bills to show that areca nut consignment was sent from Rajkot to a godown in Kutch.
