His surrender comes around three weeks after a designated Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) court in Bhuj, Kutch declared him and three other policemen proclaimed absconders.
According to another FIR registered at Mundra police station on October 26, Pandit and his associates used to import areca nuts from abroad in containers.
The 4 officers allegedly intercepted a truck loaded with arecanuts in Mundra town on April 13 and extorted Rs 3.75 crore from Mumbai-based businessman.
This comes two weeks after Pandit filed a complaint alleging that four policemen, his businessman friend and a private person extorted Rs 3.75 crore from him to prevent his godown in Mundra town from being sealed.
Mohta, who is also a businessman based in Gandhidham and a friend of Pandit, had surrendered at the Mundra police station after an FIR was lodged on October 16.
