Middlewich Cider Festival is back and promises to be bigger and better than ever. This popular event takes place at The Kings Lock, Booth Lane on July 30 and 31. The festival hasn t been held since 2019 due to the pandemic. Josh Hicks, from Middlewich Round Table, said: We are delighted to be putting the festival back on this year. Middlewich Cider Festival 2019 We will have live music on the Saturday afternoon and evening. Money raised will be donated to local charitable causes in Middlewich. Three sessions are being held, one on Friday evening and two on Saturday. A grooving gourmet event will be feature dishes served by Sunshine Street Food Company on Friday, with a disco of music from the 80s and 90s by DJ Dizzy. ....
TWO Cheshire brothers have been jailed at Chester Crown Court following an unprovoked attack of a man. Leon Price, 38, and Billy Price, 26, were drinking alcohol near the subway that joins Mount Pleasant Drive and St Johns Drive, Winsford, when the incident occurred shortly after 6.30pm on Friday, June 12. The brothers waved their arms and shouted and gestured at the victim, a 23-year-old from the town. Leon Price subsequently walked over to him and hit him in the head with a belt. He had taken the belt off his trousers prior to the unprovoked attack. The brothers then jumped on top of the victim, kicking and punching him whilst he was on the floor. ....
RESTORING pride in Middlewich is a top priority for re-elected Liberal Democrat Cllr Peter Hirst. The retired hospital physician was very pleased to win 34 per cent of votes in the Cledford by-election. Pride in the town is very important, said Cllr Hirst, who served as a town councillor for 16 years from 1999-2015. Middlewich was named as one of the top five places to live in England in 2014. I will do whatever I can do to help the town council keep up the image of the town, tackling litter, creating green spaces and hanging baskets. The appearance of the town and helping people to have pride in the town is something tangible that we can do. ....
