Storm thstorm that threatensthn or out at the site, we have to take actions because we have to make sure that the people are safe. that is a first priority. right now, we have delays as we prepare for the weather, but the planning an contingencies are in place, and in working with the coast guard and local and state authorities we have an extensive severe weather plan, so i am confident it will work. okay. straight to the cnn meteorologist, and severe weather expert chad myers. walk us through the forecast. what are we seeing, chad? well, the forecast is for it to be tropical storm bonnie. right now it is tropical depression 3. there was tropical depression 1 which became alex, and tropical depression 2 didn t do anything, and this is number three. that is why three could be the bonnie storm, even though it is b and 2 and all that. but hundred of aircraft flying all through it right now. they did find a 45-mile-per-hour wind which means it could be upgraded tonight or later ....
Closed and not have to open it up and let oil back out into the gulf of mexico for a storm. but as this storm comes through, it s going to disrupt operations out there, anywhere from 10 to 14 days, and right now the coast guard is already taking some steps to get all their equipment to safety. we re starting to relocate equipment from low-lying areas. we re moving it to higher ground and we re taking the precautions that we think that we need to take to make sure that we re prepared if the storm does come this way. we re watching the trajectories closely. reporter: part of the equipment that they will be bringing in, they will be pulling in a lot of the boom that s been deployed. this is one of the major deployment areas for boom. they bring a lot of this in to be cleaned and repaired. they have been doing a lot of work out here in this good weather, but as that storm comes in, there s going to be a lot of boom coming in because they don t want to leave it out there during a storm ....
