Bongani Ntanzi has spent a fifth day on the witness stand detailing the alleged assault that he endured at the hands of police before he signed two confession statements.
The State needs to present the transcripts in court as part of the defence’s bid to prove that Bongani Ntanzi was not legally represented when he first appeared in the Boksburg Magistrates Court.
The defence insists that one of the accused, Bongani Ntanzi, refused to have the man believed to be his lawyer, represent him at his first court appearance.
Accused number two Bongani Ntanzi has put it on record for the first time, that police apologised for assaulting him days after his arrest and offered him a bribe.
