Um, after what were watching is, i think, what can only be described as a snapTaliban Takeover of almost all of afghanistan, except the Capital Region, as yet. And we dont know if that Snap Takeover is permanent or semipermanent. But it is proceeding with lightning speed. And because of that, that has led multiple countries to activate contingency plans. Multiple countries that had longstanding deployments in the Long War there are now acting on an Emergency Basis to salvage what they can and to rescue who they can. Canada, great britain, germany, norway, denmark, all countries taking emergency steps right now to evacuate their citizens and personnel. To evacuate, and then close or at least temporarily shut their embassies. Its not just us. Its essentially all of our allies, who served alongside u. S. Troops in afghanistan over the Long War. The first contingent of u. S. Marines returning to afghanistan to evacuate u. S. Embassy personnel. That first contingent of marines is already on
Minister has just confirmed there have been deaths following this massive earthquake in haiti. There are no official numbers yet. Haiti as a state that is in dire straits. Last month, the head of state, the Prime Minister, was assassinated. Its going to take some time to get any handle on the amount of deaths that weve seen in light of this earthquake. I spoke to a friend in portauprince before coming on air. He was in bed this morning at about 8 30 when the earthquake shook. The earthquake, he told me, went on for over a minute of tremors, and that was in portauprince. As you said in your introduction, this earthquake is bigger in terms of the Richter Scale than the massive earthquake that shook and devastated haiti in 2010. That earthquake killed an estimated 100,000 to 300,000 people, apocalyptic levels of destruction, sadness, and death. And as the Death Count comes in in the following days, we can only hope that its not as terrible as what happened 11 years ago. But well be report

S. Attorney position in savannah, also found there was no evidence. The picture thats emerging from some of these interviews, including those of jeffrey rosen, former acting u. S. Attorney, is that Donald Trump was pushing across the body politic, looking for soft places where he could work his will. And it is fortunate for american democracy that where he tried and where it was most sensitive, he encountered resistance, from rosen, from people like Brad Raffensperger in georgia. The challenge of course is what happens next time and are republican officials facing similar pressure willing to do the same thing again that was done with Donald Trump.
