Good afternoon. Im josh mcelvin. While the officers names havent been released we are learning more about the alleged shooter and what preceded the gunfire. Ray brewer is live in the studio with those details. Ray the two officers that were wounded are now out of surgery, and according to officials while the officers remain in Critical Condition the surgery is said to have gone well. It began just before eleven last night. The two officers responding to a domestic call in east boston, on gladstone street. Reports of two roommates having a fight. Once inside police say they found this man 33yearold kirk figueroa. Police say figueroa was armed with an Assault Rifle and wearing body armor. And began to open fire injuring the officers. Other officers responded and according to the Police Commissioner they dragged the officers out of the line of fire. Figueroa was subsequently killed in a shootout.
