Waa'aka': A Storytelling and Art Experience takes place Sunday, August 8, 2021


Join us at Rancho Los Alamitos for a free family program, a reading of Waa’aka’: The Bird Who Fell in Love with the Sun by author Cindi Alvitre. Waa’aka’ is a beautiful children’s book telling the Tongva creation story of Waa’aka’, a gorgeous bird who falls in love with Tamet, the sun. The reading will be followed by an artist presentation by illustrator Carly Lake. Families will experience Tongva storytelling and hands-on art activities outdoors.
There will be two, identical presentations of this program at 10:00 AM and 11:30 AM on Sunday, August 8.
