i m erin burnett in new york. and i m dana bash in washington. welcome to a special edition of inside politics. the federal indictment of donald trump. in just a few hours, a former president will be arrested on federal charges for the first time in u.s. history. donald trump is set to face a judge in miami this amp for an unprecedented arraignment on 37 felony charges tied to his alleged miss handling of classified documents after leaving office. outside the courthouse right now, we can see some ramped up security and already crowds of trump supporters and protesters have gathered. so far, so peaceful. one thing we won t get, though, and everyone should understand this, we re not going to get to see inside the courthouse where trump will be taken into custody, so there aren t going to be handcuffs. he will have his fingerprints taken digitally. at the arraignment, he is expected to enter a not guilty plea. after what is anticipated to be a brief court appearance, trump
Reasons it is horrifying when we have seen in moments both since october 7th and through our lifetimes moments with students who are arab or look arab are targeted for harassment or for violence. Any time you see any of that it has to be confronted. As again i would emphasize it has been confronted in the most unequivocal terms by the president of the united states. Sandra it looks like some of the local reps are weighing in on what they are seeing there. Obviously them message of antisemitism will not be tolerated here. Sounds like the office of the dean of students there and often has warned they cannot occupy the campus and are saying arrests could be made. So we are watching this happen live together and mr. assess the situation for himself. so far everybody is behaving as we expected. we just want everybody to kind of peacefully demonstrate the first amendment rights and we ll make sure that everybody gets home safe. that s what we re looking for. i can tell there are several layers of security. people talk about barricades bu. tell us about that setup. we re kind of monitoring the traffic and get the crowd as we re looking for individuals that might be trying to agitate parties. we re looking good. so far no incidents? no incidents have been reported so far. reporter: and as you heard the chief say, no incidents so far. we have had shouting in people s faces and the bike cops came in and swelled and separated the two groups. a lot of showmanship out here, showing their trump pride with their flags and going by with their cars. no incidents.
