BHAKTAPUR, Nov 14: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the Nepal Sambat calendar is not only of the Newars, but it is a unique calendar of Nepal and all the Nepalis.
Nepal should handle the issue of terrorism in a professional manner and not allow any activity that might undermine the security of its neighbours, said a former top police official who is contesting Sundays election for the House of Representatives.Nepals former Inspector General of Police IGP Sarbendra Khanal said the landlocked Himalayan country should not encourage activities directed against its neighbours.We should not allow any type of work that will undermine the security of our neighbours, he said.We need to handle issues related to terrorism and security in a professional manner, he said in response to a question.

The Industry, Commerce, Labour and Consumer Interest Committee of the Federal Parliament has directed the government to take immediate action against sugar mills that are yet to pay the sugarcane farmers. After sugarcane farmers from Sarlahi reached Kathmandu for the second time to protest and demand the government to recover their due payments, the committee meeting held today has directed the government to take action against sugar mills.

The lawmakers have directed the government to recover all the dues as soon as possible.
“It seems that mill owners are collecting money and investing in other industries instead of paying the farmers,” said lawmaker Prakash Rasaili.
