Kolkata: A three-member team of the Central Bureau of Investigation on Sunday visited TMC MP and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee s nephew Abhishek Banerjee s residence ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections in the state.
CBI officials have reached the TMC MP s residence in south Kolkata to serve notice to his wife to join the probe in the coal smuggling case, sources within the probe agency said.

Trinamool Congress s Abhishek Banerjee, who is also West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee s nephew, has emerged as the BJP s favourite target as the young politician is groomed as the future leader of the party.
Mamata Banerjee will remain in charge, say Trinamool leaders as they admit in the same breath that Abhishek Banerjee s stature and role in the party has grown in the last few years. The 33-year-old - a second-term MP from South 24 Parganas District s Diamond Harbour - has been the BJP s punching bag amid a high-pitched election campaign.
The brawl over families between Mamata Banerjee and Union minister Amit Shah continued during his second visit to Bengal today, with the Chief Minister, still fuming over his last week's "Bua-Bhatija" remark, challenging the senior BJP leader to defeat her nephew first. There was a second challenge as well. Ms Banerjee, who had dragged Amit Shah's son Jay Shah into the debate last week, continued the argument today, saying, "I challenge Amit Shah to let his son enter politics".
