Share this article A Kerry councillor says the family of a young girl killed in a road accident can count on the local community for support. 11-year-old Aoibheann Duffy who was on a bike was seriously injured following a collision involving a van on the Tralee to Abbeydorney road around 7.30 last evening. She was later pronounced dead in University Hospital Kerry. Advertisement The driver of the van, a man in his 50s, was taken to hospital to be treated for injuries. An active, outgoing, fun-loving girl who was always smiling. That s how Principal of Ardfert National School, Betty Stack, says Aoibheann Duffy will be remembered. ....
It may be the Easter Holidays, but that does not mean that Betty Stack, principal of Ardfert NS, and the rest of her staff are not working hard to improve their school even further. One of their main goals at the moment is the development of a new school hall, which of course don t come cheap, so the school has come up with a new fundraiser to help them to cover the costs. The 50k Your Way campaign was launched by Betty and the other staff members last week, and it s a campaign whereby they are asking people to cover a 50km distance - either by running, cycling, walking or swimming - from over the period of April 19 to May 16. ....
