Restoration Coffee s third location now open in Bridgewater

BRIDGEWATER  Restoration Coffee opened its third location in Central Square this week after undergoing several months of renovations. Its location at 25 Central Square is where another café, Better Bean Coffee Co., once was before it closed during the COVID-19 pandemic.  A lot of people in the town are happy to have something back in the center (of town) they can walk and drive to, said owner Matt Wood. The first few days of business have been busy with plenty of foot traffic, he said, People have also been posing about the opening on social media.  Wood had been eyeing the Bridgewater space for years since he had a photography studio on the third floor of the building. He lived in town for about five years when he first got married and started his family.

Drunken driving, animal cruelty: 5 top Brockton-area stories last week Retiring Brockton cop facing DUI charge in Florida after traffic stop  A Brockton police officer, who is now living in Florida while his retirement is pending, was arrested last week and charged with drunken driving. Police said he responded to his arrest with a profanity-laced tirade. Mark R. Reardon, 57, was arrested in Marco Island, Florida, on April 22 following an early morning motor vehicle stop.  Reardon, who was promoted to temporary sergeant in December 2018 and had been with the Brockton Police Department since September 1988, was not actively working for the department. “Officer Reardon is a Florida resident pending retirement and is no longer an active Brockton police officer,” Police Chief Emanuel Gomes said.
