NJ mobster sentenced to prison for attacking RHONJ boyfriend

A federal judge has sentenced an alleged member of the Lucchese crime family to nearly three years in prison for beating a former reality TV star s husband with a slapjack in return for a discounted wedding at The Brownstone in Paterson. 
On Thursday, District Court Judge Kevin McNulty said Perna must serve a 30-month sentence, pay $17,816 in restitution and be subject to three years of supervised release, according to a statement from acting U.S. Attorney Rachael Honig.
Federal prosecutors said Perna and a member of his crew assaulted the victim, David Cantin, on July 18, 2015. As compensation, Manzo’s ex-husband, Thomas Manzo, promised Perna he would cut the price of a lavish wedding reception at The Brownstone, the West Broadway catering hall he co-owns. ....

Englewood Cliffs NJ affordable housing: Judge Farrington settlement challenged


ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS In its latest challenge to affordable housing mandates, the borough has filed to invalidate a settlement that was years in the making.
In the paperwork filed in Superior Court in Bergen County on Friday, Borough Attorney Eric Bernstein requests that Judge Christine Farrington declare that former council members Deborah Tsabari and Ed Aversa had conflicts of interest in the litigation.
The filing seeks to void all council votes at the Oct. 4, 2020, and Jan. 10, 2019, meetings and void any settlement agreements with the Fair Share Housing Center and Normandy Real Estate Partners, the developer looking to build on the former Unilever campus at 800 Sylvan Ave. ....
