Bengaluru has fined 22 families ₹5,000 each for using Cauvery water for non-essential activities during the water crisis. The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) collected a total of ₹1.1 lakh in fines from these households, which were found to be using drinking water for activities like washing cars and gardening.
