Srinagar: With Ghulam Nabi Azad and Nazir Ahmad Laway completing their terms as Rajya Sabha members on Monday, Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory doesn t now have any representatives in the Upper House of Parliament.
While Fayaz Ahmad Mir(PDP)and Shamsher Singh Manhas(BJP) ceased to be members of the House on February 10, Azad and Laway completed their six-year terms as RS members today.
With this, Jammu & Kashmir has lost representation in the Rajya Sabha and there are no immediate chances of the Union Territory again sending its members to the House as the Assembly elections are still far away. Similar situation had also arisen twice since 1952. ....

Sindh to issue Benazir Mazdoor Card this month, says Saeed Ghani

Sindh Education and Labour Minister Saeed Ghani has announced that the provincial government is going to start issuing the Benazir Mazdoor Card (BMC) in the current month, saying the card is the first of its kind initiative by any province in the country for the welfare of the labourers.
Addressing a reception hosted for him by the North Karachi Association of Trade and Industry here on Saturday, he said the BMC was as much a groundbreaking project for the welfare of deprived sections of the society as the initiative to launch the Banazir Income Support Programme some years back. ....

Broadsheet CEO claims govt knows who transferred $1bn

Broadsheet LLC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Kaveh Moussavi has said that he had voluntarily identified a suspicious bank account in the United Kingdom having an amount of $1 billion but the government of Pakistan has not shown any interest in tracing it.
Responding to a question in an interview with
BBC Urdu on Friday, he said that the government of Prime Minister Imran Khan knows whom the suspicious account belonged to. However, he stayed short of revealing the identity during the interview.
The Broadsheet CEO said that he was in talks with the government to offer his services in tracing the assets of Pakistani political figures abroad. However, he alleged that a representative of the incumbent government talked about commission – a term often used in the subcontinent for kickback – for himself upon identifying the bank account. ....
