Braeswood BBQ brings Tex Mex barbecue to the ever growing Gateway District just south of the Arts District. The food truck turned restaurant was parking at Beer District Brewing in the Arts District or Bad Beat Brewing in Henderson until it opened at 1504 S. Main St., next to the upcoming Western-themed speakeasy, the Horse Trailer Hideout, and the neighborhood’s first planned sports tavern. The restaurant from chef Gerald Casas who worked at Green Valley Ranch, Lucky Foo, B&B Ristorante at the Venetian, and Caesars Palace gets its name from the Houston neighborhood where he grew up. Casas says his recipes honor his grandfather’s Tex-Mex restaurant. ....
The City Council Wants to Create a Brewery Row in Downtown Las Vegas Plus the state takes on delivery app fees Share this story DOWNTOWN The Las Vegas City Council wants to create a Brewery Row in the Arts District and Gateway District, where a number of breweries already set up shop. Aside from banners identifying the area, the council plans to recruit new breweries to open with a waiver of the liquor license origination charge. The city identified CraftHaus Brewery, Three Sheets Craft Beer Bar and The Mad Fermentist, Hop Nuts Brewing, Nevada Brew Works, HUDL Brewing Co., Beer District Brewing, and Able Baker Brewing as part of the program, adding Tenaya Creek Brewery and Banger Brewing, although neither is part of the proposed new incentive area. SerVehZah Craft Beer Bottle Shop & Taproom debuted in the Arts District, adding to the local beer scene that’s teaming with newcomers. Craft beer aficionados Anthony Herrera, Jonathan Barboza, and Tony Martinez created the bar, and derived the name from the phonetic pronunciation of “beer” in Spanish. SerVehZah brings a taproom with 24 craft beers to tap. Local breweries such as CraftHaus, HUDL Brewing, Tenaya Creek, and Lovelady Brewing Co. join High Water Brewing out of Lodi, California; Coedo Brewery from San Diego; Imbib Custom Brews out of Reno; and more on the taps.
