Coty to partner with LanzaTech for carbon-captured ethanol in majority of fragrances by 2023

The purified ethanol will be sourced using carbon-capture technology from the industrial carbon emissions of heavy industries such as steel mills and oil refineries (Getty Images) International beauty major Coty has signed a letter of intent to partner with carbon recycling major LanzaTech to integrate sustainable, carbon-captured ethanol into its fragrance formulas. Following two years of collaborative research between Coty scientists, production partners and LanzaTech, the teams had finally developed a high-purity sustainable ethanol suitable for use in fragrances. The purified ethanol was sourced from industrial carbon emissions; waste carbon monoxide gases produced by heavy industries such as steel mills and oil refineries.
