A total of 169 active cases were reported. That compares with 203 active cases on Monday. In the meantime, 25 new cases were reported across the region and 56 recoveries. Hereâs a county-by-county look at the data: Genesee County on Tuesday reported 10 new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 4,453 cases since the pandemic arrived in the region in March. The new cases include people in their 20s, 30s, 50s, 60s and 80s. They include people in the countyâs western, central and eastern regions. Two of the new positive individuals are inmates at the Buffalo Federal Detention Center. The county also reported 17 new recoveries, for a total of 3,914. ....
WARSAW â Limited visitation has returned at Wyoming County Community Hospital. The visitations were restarted Feb. 23, loosening some of the restrictions enacted as precautions against COVID-19. Hospital officials said monitoring will be ongoing, as patient, staff and community health remains a priority. âWe understand the importance of patient interaction with their loved ones and the role visitation plays in a patientsâ emotional wellbeing and therefore in their recovery,â hospital officials said in Facebook post. âWe encourage families to continue to consider communication through phone and video chat during other hours of the day. âThe Patient and Family Services department can help set up the video call,â they said. âIf an in-person visit is desired, the following precautions remain in place to protect our community, patients, families, staff, and visitors, against the potential risk for acquiring and/or the spread of infect ....
ROCK GLEN â Deputies have identified the two women killed Tuesday afternoon as they drove away from a COVID-19 vaccine clinic. Jacquelin Simpson, 83, of Perry was driving a 2001 Volkswagen, said Wyoming County Sheriff Gregory Rudolph. She was exiting the clinicâs location at the county Highway Department when she pulled into the path of an oncoming Ford Taurus. Simpson and her passenger was Jessie Button, 82, of Perry died in the accident. The other driver was identified as Amy Szulewski, 45, of Portage in Livingston County. She was treated for minor injuries at Wyoming County Community Hospital and released from WCCHS. The crash is being investigated by Deputy Nick Wright in coordination with the sheriffâs Crash Management Team and is continuing. ....
