Work is finally underway now to fix problems inside the eastbound side of the bay bridge tunnel. It was january of 2016 when a huge chunk of concrete fell on the roadway. Abc 7s Amy Hollyfield is live at the bridge with what is being done to fix the problem. Hi, reggie. See these cars leaving the tunnel . Those are the people headed to oakland that they are trying to prote protect. A chunk of concrete and a car ran into each other last year. It caused 3,000 damage to the car but the driver was okay. The concrete fell from the eastbound direction tunnel. According to the San Francisco chronicle, repair work is underway to make sure it doesnt happen again.
