Mfuleni: Police officer shot and killed at car wash, grandson wounded
A tragic shooting incident that occurred on Sunday afternoon in Mfuleni has left one police officer dead and three others injured.
SHOOTING INCIDENT UNFOLDS AT MFULENI CAR WASH
According to South African Police Service (SAPS) Captain FC van Wyk, the shooting incident occurred on Sunday afternoon around 14:45 at a car wash in Taurmaline Street, Bardale Informal Settlement, Mfuleni.
Van Wyk said that while the police officer lost her life, three others, including her young grandson made a narrow escape with injuries.
“A 50-year-old victim, an off duty Lieutenant Colonel attached to Delft SAPS, was shot and fatally wounded and three others including her three-year-old grandson were injured,” said Van Wyk.

The case against alleged Cape Town underworld boss Nafiz Modack took an ugly turn on Monday, with the 39-year-old’s bail hearing postponed due to the Magistrate preceding over the matter having been involved in a shooting incident in Mfulueni on Sunday.
Modack and his co-accused are facing 63 charges relating to gang violence. These include the attempted murder of prominent attorney William Booth in April 2020, and the assassination of Anti-Gang Unit (AGU) head Charl Kinnear in September last year.
