ILIGAN CITY – Anti-narcotics operatives seized from a couple one kilo of suspected shabu worth P6.8 million during a drug bust in Marawi City last Wednesday.
Juvenal Azurin, regional chief of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PDEA-BAR), identified the suspects as Ating Pundogar, 47, and his wife, Norhata Bonsalagan, 48, both residents of Maguing, Lanao del Sur.
They were nabbed by PDEA agents and policemen during an entrapment operation on the national highway in Barangay Matampay.
Arresting lawmen said the shabu was wrapped with cellophane labelled as Chinese tea.
Authorities tagged the suspects as big-time drug traffickers operating in Lanao areas. They had been under surveillance for several months prior to their arrest.
