The surrender of the 100 ASG members was facilitated by the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) headed by Maj. Gen. Patrick Villacorte. Villacorte presented the 100 ASG surrenderers to Abalos in a ceremony at Sumadja Hall, Capitol Site, Patikul, Sulu. Abalos was happy to note that the 100 ASG members decided to surrender to live peaceful lives noting the hardships they experienced in the mountains and continuously being pursued by government troops. ....

In an order dated Jan. 31, PNP chief Gen. Dionardo Carlos designated Brig. Gen. Remus Medina, chief of the Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG), as the new director of Quezon City Police District (QCPD), replacing Brig. Gen Antonio Yarra. Yarra was designated as the new chief of the Police Regional Office 4A (Calabarzon), replacing Brig. Gen. Eliseo Cruz who is now the deputy director of the Area Police Command (APC) in the Visayas. Meanwhile, PNP Training Service director Brig, Gen. Bernard Banac will now head the PRO 8 (Eastern Visayas), replacing Brig. Gen. Rommel Cabagnot, who was reassigned to the Office of the Chief PNP (OCPNP). Also included in the reshuffle were Maj. Gen.
