December 28, 2020 (BLOOMINGTON) – Four City of Bloomington employees received positive results of COVID-19 viral tests last week. Details of each case are as follows: One employee of the Public Works Department who works in the Animal Care and Control Division began experiencing symptoms on Friday, December 18, isolated, and was tested Monday, December 21, receiving the positive result the same day. Co-workers identified as close contacts were identified and contacted, and cleaning protocols at the employee’s workspace and shared areas were completed. No close contacts among the general public were identified. (Close contact is defined by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as someone who was within six feet of an infected person for at least 15 minutes starting from two days before illness onset–or, for asymptomatic clients, two days prior to positive specimen collection–until the time the patient is isolated.)
