we want to raise our children with the foundation of the oneness of humanity and for them to understand that being mixed is a beautiful thing. but before dawning and aria could even talk about starting a family, there was one important step they had to take. in order for baha is to be married, you have to get parental consent from all living parents. we look at that as the union of two families, and so if those parents are not in agreement, you can only imagine the disunity that that will bring. dawning s parents were fine with the idea, but aria s parents not so much. my parents thought i was out of my mind because i was talking about marriage. ....
Over the years, countless baha is have continued the tradition. would you go as far as to say that baha is believe that interracial marriage is a key to world harmony? yeah, yeah. the hope is that this love, this unity is not only between the married couple but now between their families. it just kind of has a ripple effect. if people can change their mind-set and think of humanity as flowers of one garden, then we ll get to world peace. for so long we ve been segregated and only kind of recently has it started to be acceptable to really be with whoever you want. and i think we re seeing some really, really beautiful fruits of that. ....
Baha i faith? it s an independent world religion that talks about the oneness of mankind. and so if you re a christian, if you re a muslim, if you re black, if you re white, if you re latinx, whatever walk of life you come from, we are one organic unit. so the baha i faith doesn t discount other religions? no, no, no. krishna, abraham, moses, buddha, christ, mohammed. we believe each messenger comes from the same god. god gave us teachings for what our minds could understand at that time. and so we can look at each holy book as chapters to god s larger book. baha is believe all world religions essentially worship the same god. this idea of oneness is literally carved into the temple walls. beside the jewish star of david is the christian cross and the ....
