Badaun Rape: Priest, Other Accused Remanded to Police Custody
The family members of a 50-year-old anganwadi worker had accused the temple priest and his accomplices of raping and killing the woman.

Badaun, UP: A temple priest and his accomplices accused of raping and killing a 50-year-old woman here have been remanded to one-day police custody by a local court.
Circle officer of Bilsi, Anirudh Singh, said on Wednesday that, “The three accused persons in the Ughaiti incident have already been sent to jail. But there are some questions which need to be answered. For this, it is necessary to take the three accused on remand”.

New Delhi: In a late-night crackdown on Thursday, the Uttar Pradesh police arrested the priest who is the main accused in the grape-and-murder case of a 50-year-old anganwadi worker in Badaun.
District magistrate Kumar Prashant told news agency PTI on Thursday midnight that
mahant (priest) Satya Narayan was hiding in the house of his follower in a village under the Ughaiti police station, from where he was picked up.
