A sizable sinkhole in midtown Omaha formed Tuesday after a sewer line broke about 20 feet under the road, a city official said. The official theorized recent heavy rains may have led to the sinkhole.
Despite Saddle Creek Road's history of flooding due to it being built on a creek, there are no plans to address the infrastructure of the area to stop it from happening.
John Ashford, president of the Dundee-Memorial Park Association, which represents residents of neighborhoods just west of the construction zone, said the prolonged lane closures on Dodge are concerning.
