The defense continues to be the teamâs strong suit as the Cardinal boysâ basketball team locked down the Indians during a 58-36 road win on Friday night. âWe played well defensively,â Newton coach Jason Carter said. âWe got lots of tips and were pretty active.â It took a while to get going offensively as the Cardinals led 8-6 after one quarter. But Newton (3-0 overall, 2-0 in the conference) scored at least 16 points in the other three periods to cruise to a third straight win. ....
