Msgt, Richard (Coach) Frank Coccie, Ret., of Floodwood, MN passed away at his home on May 20, 2022. After high school, Richard joined the Army, and volunteered for jump training at Fort Bragg, where he earned his parachutist badge. He then volunteered for a new group that the Army was forming that became the Army Special Forces - the Green Berets. Following his active duty enlistment, Richard continued his military career by serving in the U.S. Army Reserves, and the Minnesota Army National Guard. ....
Trudy Diane Stahl, 62, of Cloquet, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Essentia Hospital in Duluth after a three month battle with cancer. She was born June 5th, 1959 in Duluth to Howard and Phyllis Zakowitz. She grew up in Hermantown and Esko graduating from Esko High School in 1977. Trudy was united in marriage to Randy Stahl on October 22, 1983 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Cloquet, and together they raised two sons in Cloquet. ....
Mary Helen (Stone) Juntunen, 95, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Evergreen Knoll Senior Living in Cloquet. Born in 1926 in Richmond, Kentucky, she grew up in Paris, KY. She met Bill Juntunen when he was stationed with the U.S. Army in Lexington, KY. They married in 1946 and lived in Esko throughout their married lives in homes that Bill designed and built. Outside the home, she had various jobs throughout her life, including helping Bill in his business, but her favorite was co-managing Standard Oil’s corporate resort in Woodruff, WI. ....
Bernice Bertha Price, 98, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 5, 2022 in Sunnyside Health Care in Cloquet. Bernice was born on December 21, 1923 in Ely, MN where she was the fourth of seven children born to Matt and Bertha Korpi. Born a premature baby, she was baptized immediately, placed in a shoebox, and named after her mother as they thought she would not survive, but she stayed with us for 98 years. She attended Ely Public School and later earned an associate degree from Ely Junior College of which she was very proud. ....
