此次大会的信鸽共有10万羽，数量达到历史新高。身为丰台区信鸽协会会员，李凡明显感受到国家对此次活动的重视程度之高，具体到“交多少羽”“交什么鸽子”“几点钟交”都会被录入电脑详细备案。他交上的30羽鸽子是从70羽鸽子中选拔出的“精英”。交鸽前几日，协会工作人员上门抽查，随机指定了几羽鸽子抽血化验。如果鸽子被查出问题，不但和活动无缘，还要封笼、销毁，防止疾病传播。李凡介绍，鸽子的健康状况非常关键，一羽鸽子“犯病”，可能会导致大范围串病，集体“趴窝”没法放飞，对活动造成很大影响。李凡的鸽子顺利通过了“体检”。6月30日下午，他把自己的30羽鸽子送到集鸽现场。层层筛选出的鸽子“坐”上特制的空调车，前后有警车开道，为它们保驾护航。李凡介绍，选中的鸽子都是中距离“选手”，打过
